Gordon River Greeenway Naples Florida

The visionaries for the Gordon River Greenway began the planning in 1987, yesterday the newest part of the Gordon River Greenway opened to visitors for walking and biking along the boadwalks and 12 foot wide trail.

Extending the first 1½ mile section of the Gordon River Greenway Naples that opened in 1992 adjacent to the Naples airport and along the Gordon river, it now extends north all the way to Golden Gate Blvd where you will find one of the parking areas and access points to the Greenway just east of Goodlette-Frank Rd. The other access points are at the east end of the new expanded Naples Zoo parking lot and the original 1992 access point at the west side of Naples airport.

One more extension is planned when the Baker Park on Riverside Circle is completed which is further south from the airport.

The Greenway is part of a north-south system of trails extending through the county. It will weave through mangroves and other plants native to Florida and feature 12-foot-wide pathways and 10-foot-wide elevated boardwalks.
